Our founders, Ori & Nadav Lahat, had a shared dream of creating a fun-loving ice cream sandwich brand in South Africa. Entrepreneurs by heart with a great love for food, and especially desserts. “We always loved Gelato, the texture, the flavours, and especially the making of a true traditional Italian Gelato”. We pride ourselves on making Gelato in the traditional Italian way, keeping it simple, fresh, full of flavour, and NO SHORTCUTS.
Crumbs & Cream had modest beginnings, selling hand-made ice cream sandwiches from a pink and yellow truck at the Sea Point promenade in 2016 and it was a huge success. Both locals and tourists began flocking to get their hands on these delectable cookie and ice-cream sandwiches, which soon led to the opening of our first store just 2 months later. Crumbs & Cream now has 5 stores in Cape Town, Stellenbosch, and Joburg. Beyond our expanding footprint and delectable treats, family lies at the heart of everything we do.

Process
Our recipes are a labor of love, honed over years of dedication by our founders, blending traditional Italian methods with exotic flavors from around the globe. We lovingly slow-cook our ingredients in fresh milk to extract every ounce of flavor, creating a luxuriously thick and creamy base for our gelato. Each batch is then infused with handpicked flavors before being churned to velvety perfection in our authentic Italian Gelato maker.
